Mischievously blending rock with blues and other genres, Nashville based alt-rock band, Stray Nova, have been re-defining the new era of alternative. Sparking creativity between the combination of their own diverse musical backgrounds, Stray Nova is the brainchild of longtime friends Dalton Akins and Matt White. After playing for years together as a cover band, Dalton and Matt decided to start fresh with their own original music, which led to the addition of Ryan Myles and Jesse Bobick. With Ryan’s heavy hip-hop and gospel-infused drum rhythms, Matt’s classic yet quirky guitar riffs and soul-scorching solos, Jesse’s dangerously ominous fills and swells with a classically trained kick, and Dalton’s dynamically driving bass and distinctly haunting vocals, an inescapable atmosphere unfolds.
What happens when the one you love brings nothing but trouble to your life? You get the situation described on “Where Do You Go From Here,” the new single from Stray Nova. The Tennessee-based rock and roll outfit released the single as the follow-up to 2019’s “Bad Luck,” with more on the way later this year.
Stray Nova is led by the charismatic Dalton Akins. The singer and bassist delivers a powerful vocal performance which brings a Gavin DeGraw level of soul to the track, while packing enough raw punch to make blues heads happy. Speaking of blues, you’ll hear its influence seep in further by way of the electrifying guitar work of axe man Matt White, whose dynamic performance hooks us, from the tune’s memorable opening riff onward.
